It’s important to know how to cut off the water supply should you have a leak in your home. Here is a video to assist you with finding your Water Shut-Off Valve.

Secure Your Water Heater

Fresh water after a disaster may be as close as your water heater — provided, of course, it remains standing upright. You can protect this valuable resource by securing your water heater to the wall studs.

Have Enough Water for Backup

After a disaster such as an earthquake, you and your family should be prepared to be on your own for at least three days and up to 2 weeks. Emergency response teams will be very busy and may not be able to provide immediate care to all who need it.

It is recommended to have 1 gallon per person per day for 14 days on hand in case of emergency. This will be your source for drinking, cooking and hygene.
